Today, industry leaders from the Construction Associations of Saskatchewan and MERIT Contractors Association – Saskatchewan participated in the Construction Lobby Day at the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.

Together, the Construction Associations and MERIT represent over 1,050 member companies, mainly small businesses. Our goal is to improve Saskatchewan’s construction industry, which currently employs over 40,000 people according to BuildForce Canada’s 2024 report. Our sector is growing across the province.

Industry leaders represented key construction priorities to ensure the industry’s success and contribute to Saskatchewan’s future. These priorities include:

Participants highlighted the need for a skilled workforce and re-establishment of the Saskatchewan Construction Panel (SCP). They also called for collaboration between government and Industry.
