Construction Hiring Event Connects Job Seekers With Industry Employers
April 22, 2026
More than 250 registered participants signal strong interest in Saskatchewan’s construction sector
SASKATOON, SK — The Construction Association of Saskatchewan (CASK), in partnership with SaskJobs, hosted a pilot construction hiring event in Saskatoon today, bringing together more than 250 registered job seekers and leading employers from across Saskatchewan’s construction industry.
The event, developed through CASK’s ongoing workforce development and industry engagement efforts, connected job seekers directly with employers actively hiring for projects across the province. Participating employers included Wright Construction, Fire & Flood (Saskatoon & Prince Albert), Alliance Energy and Quorex Construction, collectively offering more than 50 career opportunities. Positions ranged from entry-level labour and apprenticeship opportunities to skilled trades, project coordination and site supervision roles. Opportunities were available in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Regina and communities across Saskatchewan, with wages ranging from $17 to $49 per hour depending on the position and employer.
Unlike a traditional job fair, the event was intentionally designed as a focused, action oriented hiring experience, providing job seekers with direct access to hiring representatives and opportunities to participate in on-the-spot interviews.
“This event is a reflection of what’s possible when industry and government work together to connect people with good jobs,” said Shannon, President & CEO, CASK. “Our industry is experiencing significant growth, and initiatives like this demonstrate how strategic partnerships can create real opportunities for people while helping employers secure the skilled workforce needed to deliver the projects that will shape our province’s future.”
“The result from today’s event is that we anticipate filing more position than we had initially planned. Preparation by SaskJobs and CASK provided opportunity for an effective and efficient hiring event.” said Brennen Mills, Partner – Fire & Flood.
Today’s hiring event is part of CASK’s broader commitment to workforce development, industry advocacy and supporting the long-term labour needs of Saskatchewan’s construction sector. As major infrastructure, industrial and commercial projects continue to expand across the province, collaborative initiatives like this will play a critical role in ensuring Saskatchewan has the skilled workforce necessary to support continued economic growth and industry success.
