Construction Association of Saskatchewan Holds Successful Inaugural Annual General Meeting

January 15, 2026

Saskatoon, SK — The Construction Association of Saskatchewan (CASK) successfully held our inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday – January 15, marking a historic milestone for the unified provincial construction association.

The AGM brought together members, industry leaders, and stakeholders to reflect on CASK’s first year of operations and to set a clear direction for the future of CASK.

“This inaugural AGM represents more than a governance milestone,” said CASK President & CEO Shannon Friesen. “It reflects years of collaboration, trust-building, and shared commitment to honoring our past and building the future for ICI Construction in Saskatchewan.”

Key Outcomes of the AGM

During the meeting, members formally:

  • Ratified CASK’s bylaws, establishing a strong governance foundation for the Association
  • Approved the 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, outlining priorities focused on advocacy, member engagement, industry sustainability, and regional representation
  • Confirmed the 2026 Board of Directors and Regional Advisory Council Members, providing leadership and strategic oversight for the year ahead
  • Recognized departing Board and RAC Members, who played a vital role in representing local and regional industry perspectives across the province

Construction Industry Day

January 15 was also recognized as Construction Industry Day, underscoring the critical role construction plays in Saskatchewan’s economy and communities.

As part of Construction Industry Day, the Hon. Sean Wilson, Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement, joined CASK members for an Industry Priorities breakfast meeting at the CASK Saskatoon Office, continuing discussions on key challenges, opportunities, and collaborative solutions for the sector. The Minister also toured a CASK member job site, gaining firsthand insight into the work being delivered by Saskatchewan’s construction industry.

“Congratulations to the Construction Association of Saskatchewan on a successful first annual AGM,” Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement Sean Wilson said. “The Ministry of SaskBuilds and provincial Government look forward to working with CASK to build Saskatchewan, with Saskatchewan, for Saskatchewan.”

Looking Ahead

CASK’s newly launched 2026–2029 Strategic Plan positions the Association as a unified, trusted voice for construction across Saskatchewan.

The plan is built around four key pillars:

  • Members & Community Partners: Strengthening member engagement, advocacy outcomes, and regional representation to ensure members feel supported, connected, and clearly see the value of belonging to CASK.
  • Internal Processes & Governance: Building strong, modern systems and disciplined governance practices so CASK operates with efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
  • People, Culture & Learning: Supporting workforce development, leadership growth, succession planning, and meaningful Indigenous partnerships to grow the next generation of construction leaders.
  • Financial Sustainability: Ensuring long-term stability through sustainable membership growth, diversified revenue foundations, and responsible financial and asset management.

“This inaugural AGM marks a defining moment for our association,” said Jeff Hagerty, Chair – CASK. “By ratifying our bylaws, confirming our Board and Regional Advisory Councils, and launching a clear 3 year strategic plan, we are setting a strong foundation for a unified, member-driven association. Together, we are focused on delivering membership value, strong advocacy, and a clear provincial voice for Saskatchewan’s ICI construction industry.”
