A momentous chapter in the history of Saskatchewan’s construction associations unfolded today as the members of five key construction associations—Moose Jaw Construction Association (MJCA), Prince Albert Construction Association (PACA), Saskatoon Construction Association (SCA), Saskatchewan Construction Association (SKCA), and Regina Construction Association (RCA) voted with overwhelming majority to unify and create a single, new entity. These historic votes, conducted during special meetings held by each association from October 1^st  to October 3^rd, 2024, signifies a bold step towards a stronger and more unified future for the industry.

The five associations, with a legacy spanning over a century of service to the construction sector, have played pivotal roles in supporting and advancing Saskatchewan’s commercial construction industry. The decision to unite reflects a shared vision of honouring the deep roots laid by the associations’ past while collaboratively building the present and a stronger and brighter future.

“This vote marks a new dawn for our industry in the land of living skies,” said the Co-CEOs Kevin Dureau and Shannon Friesen. “It symbolizes our members’ commitment to progress, and to embracing the power of unity for the betterment of all. Together, we are determined to serve the members with even greater strength, resources, and advocacy, supporting a thriving industry that is crucial to Saskatchewan’s economy.”

The Board of Directors of the MJCA, PACA, SCA, SKCA, and RCA express their heartfelt thanks to all the members who participated in this significant vote and laid the foundation for this bold new direction. The new entity will honor the legacy of these historic associations while working together to better support Saskatchewan’s construction industry.

As the land of living skies prepares for this new chapter, the legacy of Saskatchewan’s construction associations remains deeply rooted in the past and passionately building the future.
